THE RAMAPURAM HOUSE 100 YEARS OF LEGACY

INSPIRED BY NATURE

The Ramapuram family traces its origins to the small town of Pala in Kottayam, Kerala, India. Over the generations, the family witnessed defining moments in history, including both World Wars, played a leadership role in India’s freedom struggle, and established itself across the plantation, hospitality, private residences, FMCG, and retail industries, all while remaining steadfast in its values and patriotism.

FOUNDING FATHER

Thomas E. Ramapuram took over the family business at the tender age of 21. At 25, he acquired Sampigacolly Estate in Coorg and went on to become a significant private landholder in the region, owning approximately 1,500 acres of prime plantations.
Together with his two brothers, he continued to expand the family’s holdings until 1961, when approximately 1,800 acres of plantations were divided among the three brothers. He and his children later acquired and developed another 1,000-acre plantation in the Udupi district of Karnataka and established an agro-based industry in Kerala.
More than material assets, Thomas E. Ramapuram gave his children a strong foundation in values. He took the utmost care to ensure that they grew with righteousness, dignity, and integrity. The value system he instilled in the family continues to serve as its foundation and has contributed significantly to its respected standing in society.

Today, the seven brothers who form the House of Ramapuram carry forward the legacy left by their father, Thomas E. Ramapuram, with renewed conviction.
Drawing upon a century of business experience, academic knowledge, social accomplishments, strong values, and a deeply rooted spiritual foundation, the group has continued to grow and diversify.
Building on its strong foundation in plantations, the House of Ramapuram has expanded into several business verticals, including hospitality through Evolve Back Resorts, private residences through Earthitects Private Residences, and consumer products such as fine coffees, gourmet spices, and other food and home products.
