CONTOURS OF WAYANAD

Location

Cradled within the Western Ghats, Wayanad takes its name from 'Vayal' and 'Nadu', meaning 'land of paddy fields'. Emerald terraces stretch into forested slopes, and spice-laden air carries the memory of earth. Bordering Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, these highlands sit between 700 and 2,100 m above sea level, unfolding with quiet grandeur.
