The Malabar Grey Hornbill (Ocyceros griseus) is a distinctive bird native to the Malabar region of the Western Ghats, known for its large, curved bill and striking grey plumage. These monogamous hornbills, often seen in pairs or small family groups, play a crucial role in their ecosystem. During breeding season, females seal themselves inside tree cavities, leaving a small slit for the male to provide food, showcasing their unique nesting behaviour.

At Earthitects, we strive to create an environment where man and nature coexist, a bond often overlooked in urban lifestyles. Our bird-friendly landscape serves as a haven, fostering harmonious coexistence for bird species.

The once barren Stone Lodges have been transformed into lush greenery with carefully selected endemic plants and trees. This rejuvenated habitat has welcomed back native birds like the Malabar Grey Hornbill, enhancing the birding experience.

Conservation is essential for the Malabar Grey Hornbill, as habitat loss from deforestation and human advancement poses significant threats. Our crafted haven protects their natural habitats, ensuring the survival of these magnificent birds and preserving the health and diversity of the Malabar region. Our approach creates sanctuaries that highlight the link between architectural design and ecosystem preservation. The Malabar Grey Hornbill symbolizes the area's abundant biodiversity and plays a pivotal role in maintaining its ecological harmony, truly a "Guardian of Ecological Balance."
